Spiglord's World Cup 2006
Travelling the world for fun, football and beer....
About Me
- Name: The Lair Dweller, aka Stephen
- Location: Christchurch, New Zealand
Just your regular mild-mannered and unassuming lair dweller, going about my daily lair-based activities. Once in a while I'll pop my head out of my comfy lair to see what going on and to pontificate on some mundane or arcane topic or other...!
These ramblings are either my thoughts about my beloved Tottenham Hotspurs, or my preparations to leave the cave and head out in search of World Cup Football, where ever it may happen to be....
Lair-dwellers of the world unite...!!

A depressing night, an even worse Monday morning sitting here in Gen-i. How does life go on at times like this? I know it's great to have kids, mates, family, jobs etc, but really, if you can't win a World Cup once in a lifetime, what's the point??!? We will NEVER win on penalties, we HAD to win it in normal/extra time, why on earth weren't the form players (Crouch and Lennon) on the pitch for the majority of the match, why in g*d's name was Lampard (a) putting himself forward and (b) allowed to step up for the first pen, how could Gerrard get into such an unconfident emotional state that he didn't deliver, why was Walcott even there watching? etc. Aye aye aye...drink a large Stein or three for me please...see you in a few weeks. DK
Mate... your posts have dried up fella... has that anything to do with a cetain loss... or are you locked up?
Haven't checked for a while... but great to see you still having a great time... are you final bound?
Cheers
Brendon

I can't quite bear to watch penalty shoot-outs any more, and discussing what England should have done could become a full time job. All I can say is that I was glad that we qualified and raised all our hopes once again, only to dash them on the rocks of a lacklustre performance...
Still having the Italians win the whole blody thing with such a poor display has helped me get over my England-induced depression. At least Zinedan did what every non-Italian fan would have like to do, just a shame that the French didn't win as well...
